Yesterday Rolland hosted Intern Day at their Dallas headquarters. In attendance were students from the University of North Texas’ Logistics program, as well as communication and marketing. This event was created to introduce students to Rolland’s business. When you tell a student you are with a safe company, you typically receive a blank stare. If you tell them you are a security company, they automatically assume surveillance or night guards. Bringing the students to our campus in Dallas gives them an opportunity to see our business model and operation.
Rolland went to interview many junior and senior students for the internship in Dallas last month. The top contenders were then invited to this event to see if they had a mutual interest in our organization.
Rick Rolland speaking to the students about the innovation they could bring to the table said, “We are a 109 year old company. It would be easy to think we know everything about business. But if we keep doing things the same way, we will become irrelevant, like so many other companies have. We need young minds in our organization to influence change and new direction.”
