Pawn Shop Manager Pistol Whipped During Armed Robbery

Down

A manager at a Forest Hills pawn shop was  robbed at gunpoint, punched, kicked and pistol-whipped, all in broad daylight.

At around 11:30 am, two men rang the Pawn Shop buzzer. After a worker let them in, the men covered their faces with dark masks, authorities said.

One of them pulled out a gun and pointed it at the manager, demanding cash. The manager ran towards a back room, where the robbers punched and kicked him, before pistol-whipping him, causing him to suffer several cuts to the back of his head, police said.

The suspects then rummaged the safe, stealing gold coins and cash before fleeing on foot.

While we gratefully report that a store representative said that the injured worker was doing fine, no arrests have been made.

No matter what security system you have set in place, you and your staff should always be trained on how to best handle an armed robbery. Proper training could mean saving a life, as well as preventing future break-ins or robberies.
